However, it is a fact that the testosterone administered by the mouth is absorbed fast, and it gets itself converted in to the form of inactive metabolites and then you will only find a minute amount in the active form.  Testosterone has its other way of administration and that is parenterally, but the disadvantage in this technique is that its absorption time in very long and irregular as well. The steroids given in the injection form are given in the muscle and not in the vein. This is done to avoid any kind of changes that are sudden and can make effect on the bloodstream. Intravenous injection can cause clot in the blood stream and that is the reason it is very dangerous and avoided.

Studies have proved that the administration routes do not have much different effects and the efficiency of the drug almost remains constant. Anabolic properties will keep similar even though the difference like first pass metabolism can arise. However, special care must be done because a high oral dose can cause liver damage to some extent.
